Some homes just beg to be painted! This stately old Victorian stands on a prominent street corner in my hometown. I decided to turn the clock back to a Christmas Eve around the turn of the century and paint the house all lit up for open house festivities. The scene seemed so nostalgic that I couldn't resist painting Norman Rockwell in the lower left hand corner.

Victorian Christmas is a real bed and breakfast in Placerville - Thom’s hometown. See Thom driving the horse carriage on the right side. Victorian Christmas was a tribute to Norman Rockwell (featured on the left-hand corner of the painting, bearing a Christmas gift) and the real name of the place is Combellack Blair House. In Victorian Christmas and Victorian Christmas II, the town people are just arriving at the party. Victorian Christmas III and Victorian Christmas IV are more of an intimate family gathering.
